Suppose the Poorhouse told you that the largest haul of bomb-making explosives ever found in someone's house in the UK was discovered recently. And not just your average backyard weaponry; we're talking rocket launchers, chemicals and even nuclear-biological suits. Scared yet?

Before you run away in panic - or wonder why it hasn't been plastered all over the international news-wires - please have a think about who you think was the owner of these things. Let us guess - a dark skinned bearded fellow with an Arabic name?

Error: the perpetrators - Robert Cottage and David Jackson - not only have English sounding names but also, shocks, have white skin! In fact they are so whiter-than-white that one of them has stood as a candidate for the racist British National Party no less.

The Poorhouse realises that this will be a shock to the system. For years the Daily Hatred Mail and even a lot of its more responsible ilk have been telling us that only those of Arabic heritage are out to blow us up. But oh no, not only are not all Muslims wannabe bombers (did that shatter another illusion?), but not all wannabe bombers - even those with nuclear weapon fantasies - are Islamic. We understand if you need a moment to sit down.

Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that despite the physical evidence being in place, and enough reason to believe they were up to no good to charge them with illegal possession, it has largely gone unreported in the media. Just a couple of local papers and a brief aside in The Times as far as the Poorhouse has read.

Sit back now and imagine that these guys were indeed of the darker-skinned persuasion, hording chemicals, explosives and radiation suits alongside inflammatory political literature. Every last front page in the UK would be full of shock horror foreign Muslim asylum seeker invasion stories, no?

The Poorhouse is far from the only non-mass media site to pick this up. The Void's take on it is particularly...informative, and one has to wonder how close to the truth it may be.
