Week 3

Just had my third weigh-in and I've lost 7 pounds in total - so that's quarter of the way there! NICE! I've had temptation put in my way - last weekend I was invited to 3 consecutive bbq's (one which featured a chocolate fountain!), but I've managed (mostly) not to give into anything that's too bad. I've been remembering all the classic dieting cliches such as "nothing tastes as good as being slim feels" and "a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips" and the thought of them makes me feel sick enough not to want to eat! Frequent trips to the gym (well, at least once a week!) are also a feature of my righteous lifestyle - I'm actually starting to "enjoy" it (erm... more like hate it less). Jim is my gym buddy and he is really proud that he is starting to develop pecs in place of his man boobs!

Thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored me - with your contributions we have already exceeded my target of £500. Donations on line total £650 and I have £170 of offline pledges if I succeed. I'm thrilled at the amount of sponsorship that has flooded in and given that I'm only in week 3, I think I'm going to raise my target to £1000! I'm sure your money is doing greater good than just spurring me on - by funding the delivery of medical aid to those in crisis. For more details of MSF's work visit www.msf.org

I am going on a hen do this weekend, so I'll have to be careful with the booze... but not eating much has its advantages - give me a wine gum and a glass of water and I'm under the table!

To the left is my BEFORE picture - showing the need for the current project I think you'll agree! I'm not sure there is a noticeable visual difference as yet, but I did have an amusing incident with my swimming costume when I jumped into the pool the other day (think of the Special K advert - only Jim witnessed it I'm pleased to say!)

I'll keep you updated on my progress (if you're interested!) Thank you so much for your support it really is making the difference and giving me the incentive to say NO to CAKE!

Lots of love
