You know those irritating, irrelevant ads on the right of the screen? Right now there's:-

WTF is that supposed to mean? What has it got to do with the content of Poorhouse's site?

It's "Goofle Ad-Words". The idea is that they pay Goofle to promote your own web site on other sites that are RELEVANT (and pay the site owner of the other web site for the privilege). Every time someone clicks on "www.VapourOutlet.com" (whatever it is that they sell!) The Poorhouse gets a few cents from Goofle.

Trouble is that some fools pay to display their ads on totally irrelevant key-words. Even worse, some allow Goofle's Goofs (sorry, "Advertising Advisors") to select keywords for them. As the owner of a Product Marketing website, I tried this and got quite a few hits, but no conversions (sales) and when I looked at the keywords that Goofle's Goofs had added, there was "Dog Food". Considering that I sell BaconSalt, a spice blend that gives anything the flavour of bacon (Hey! Plug, Plug!!) I hardly think dog-owners are going to pay for that to add to their Pedigree Chum! (my Goofle AdWord campaign was dumped very quickly!)

But back to making Poorhouse less poor - When you visit this site, please click on the irrelevant ads, and then back to this site. The guys who put up irrelevant keywords obviously have BIG advertising budgets and can afford to pass on a few cents, or pence, to The Poorhouse!
