Tasty fruit n veg

We all know we're supposed to eat 5 portions of fruit n veg a day right? But do we know what fruit and vegetables actually are in order to actually give us a decent chance at fulfilling said obligation...? According to a recent survey, no we don't. Check it:

One in five [parents] thought that fruit-flavoured sweets, spaghetti hoops and orange squash counted towards the daily target. And although one in ten believed Jaffa Cakes, chips and cola contributed, one in 20 thought oranges or bananas didn't

Yes, a decent amount of us believe that a glass of coke with some McFilthDonalds fries is double-dosing our healthy fruit requirement for the day. And a good 15% of the surveyed population thought it wasn't especially the parent's job to teach their kids healthy eating, the idiots. Leave it to Jamie Oliver et al.

Hilarious / terrifying as this is, it should be noted the questionnaire was done by a firm that sells (unfresh, packaged and processed) vegetables, and reported on by the insane institution that is the Daily Mail, so there's every chance none of this is true. But it amused the Poorhouse, in a laugh-at-other-people way, anyway.

One in Five?

One in five [parents] thought that fruit-flavoured sweets, spaghetti hoops and orange squash counted towards the daily target.

Is it also a fact that one in five households take The Sun every day (?)
